Story of the Log Cabin |
It's a two-story log cabin, located in Eagle Rock, VA. It was built in 1840 (pre-Civil War). The addition was added around 1890 and the house was used as a boarding house for saw mill workers when the railroad went in. It later served as the post office for the little village of Surber. It was purchased by Carol's grandfather around the turn of the century. Eight kids were raised in this house, with one of them being Carol's father.
